Pastor Catalano came to saving faith in Christ as a teenager in 1982 in Newington, CT.  After studying the Bible for the first time in high school, the Lord impressed a desire upon him to prepare to teach the Word of God.  In 1985, he entered Maranatha Baptist Bible College and earned his BA in Pastoral Studies four years later.  In 1995, he earned his Master of Divinity degree at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary.

After seminary, he helped begin New Life Baptist Church in New Haven in 1997, serving as co-pastor to Pastor Chris Bosnyak.  In October of 2001, Peter became pastor and the church now meets at the Hamden/North Haven YMCA.

Pastor Catalano's wife, Rhoda, is a teacher at Westwoods Christian Academy.  They have two children, Erika and Andrew, who attend WCA and are involved in Hamden's soccer and baseball programs.

Pastor Catalano's desire is to build a church by building people.  A church which is centered in the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ whereby men and women can be freed from the curse of the law and be declared righteous and forgiven by God's grace.  This new life issues forth in worship to God, love for others, personal growth in Christian maturity.
